Cannabinoids

Updated: 3 days ago

“In view of the very low toxicity and the generally benign side effects of this group of compounds, neglecting or denying their clinical potential is unacceptable”

(Kogan, N. M., & Mechoulam, R. (2007). Cannabinoids in health and disease. Dialogues in clinical neuroscience, 9(4), 413–430.).

Cannabinoids, or phytocannabinoids, are a group of active chemical compounds naturally found in cannabis and a wide variety of other plants.

Hemp possesses over 100 different cannabinoids, each of which comes with a unique set of benefits and effects. The most commonly mentioned are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

Here at Upstream Organics we process hemp, which is a form of cannabis that is high in CBD content and contains only trace amounts of THC (0.3% or less).
